Invisalign® Benefits

Conditions We Treat:

Invisalign® is designed to address a wide range of orthodontic concerns using a comfortable, clear, and highly precise approach. Whether your needs are cosmetic or functional, we  offer predictable results for both teens and adults.

Crowded Teeth
Crowded teeth occur when there isn’t enough space in the jaw for all teeth to fit properly. This can lead to overlapping, twisting, and difficulty cleaning between teeth. Invisalign® gradually creates the necessary space, guiding teeth into proper alignment for improved function and a more even smile.

Spacing & Gaps
Gaps between teeth may result from natural spacing, smaller teeth, or habits such as thumb-sucking. While some gaps are only cosmetic, others can affect bite stability or lead to food trapping. Invisalign® gently closes spaces, bringing teeth into a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing position.

Rotated Teeth
Teeth may rotate when there is insufficient space or when they erupt at an angle. Rotated teeth can make biting and chewing less efficient and may affect your smile’s appearance. Invisalign® uses controlled, step-by-step movements to guide rotated teeth into a straighter, more functional orientation.

Overbite
An overbite happens when the upper front teeth extend too far over the lower ones. This can lead to jaw discomfort, uneven wear, and, in some cases, difficulty chewing. Invisalign® can correct mild to moderate overbites by gradually shifting teeth into a healthier, more balanced bite.

Underbite
An underbite occurs when the lower teeth sit in front of the upper teeth, often affecting chewing, speech, and long-term dental health. Invisalign® can help realign the bite by guiding teeth into a more optimal position, improving both appearance and function.

Crossbite
A crossbite develops when some upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth instead of outside, leading to wear on the teeth, gum recession, or jaw discomfort. Invisalign® can effectively correct many types of crossbites by repositioning the teeth into a more natural alignment.

Invisalign Treatment Process

Treatment Process

The Invisalign® treatment process begins with a comprehensive consultation, where your dentist evaluates your teeth, bite, and overall oral health to determine if you’re a good candidate. Next, digital scans or impressions are taken to create a precise 3D model of your smile. Using this model, a customized treatment plan is developed, showing how your teeth will gradually move. Once your set of clear aligners is ready, you’ll wear each tray for about one to two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Regular check-ins ensure your progress stays on track, and as you advance through each series of aligners, your teeth move closer to their ideal position—resulting in a straighter, healthier smile.

FAQs

How long does Invisalign® treatment take?
Most patients complete treatment in 6 to 18 months, depending on the complexity of their case and how consistently they wear their aligners. Your dentist will give you a personalized timeline during your consultation.
Do the aligners hurt?
Invisalign® is generally comfortable. You may feel mild pressure or tightness for a day or two when switching to a new set of aligners, which is a normal sign that the treatment is working.
How often do I need to wear the aligners?
For the best results, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. You can remove them for meals, brushing, and flossing, but consistent wear is essential for staying on track.
Can I eat normally with Invisalign?
Yes! Since the aligners are removable, you can enjoy all your favorite foods. You simply remove the aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water, then clean your teeth before putting them back in.
Is Invisalign a better option compared to traditional braces?
Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that incrementally move teeth. Patients can remove the aligners for eating/drinking, brushing teeth, or for other activities for short periods of time (the aligners are only working while they are being worn). Braces cannot be removed at will and therefore are less flexible with your lifestyle. Braces can cause gum irritation due to inability to properly clean around them and are much more noticeable versus clear aligners. They also require frequent visits to the dentist to be tightened/adjusted. This can be difficult with other time commitments. Invisalign is more flexible in that the number of aligners you get at each check up appointment can be adjusted to accommodate for travel or other commitments. Invisalign treatment is also a lot more comfortable than traditional braces. Braces are tightened by hand and can leave the teeth sore for weeks, while Invisalign aligners more the teeth gradually and teeth are generally only sore for a day or two at a time.
